Peer Leadership Training

Peer influence is one of the most powerful forces in a teenager’s life. Too often these influences can be negative and destructive. TI’s Peer Leadership Training seeks to develop the power of “positive peer influence” in groups of high school students from across New Hampshire.

Designed for schools with existing or new peer outreach groups or school climate focused clubs, our one-day or weekend retreats help students and advisors build and reinforce their leadership skills. Our training format uses a team approach to build awareness and skill development, while focusing on communication, problem identification, referral, and action planning. Skill building exercises and teambuilding activities help students understand the power and pitfalls of group process and development.

TI’s trained facilitators guide participants through interactive and experiential learning activities designed to promote participation, understanding and group development. Students gain a greater awareness of their own abilities, and an understanding of their potential as a unified team working for common goals. Trainings can be customized to develop or refresh the unique energy of the group.

Students are trained to be a cohesive, proactive group equipped to make a difference, serving as the foundation for a successful student-led group.

This workshop is best suited to groups of up to 30 participants. Follow-up consultation is available.
